I’m an assistant professor of design and digital media in the Center of Culture, Languages, and Applied Technologies at Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia (CECULT/UFRB) and an affiliated researcher at Lab404.
Currently, I’m also a PhD candidate in Digital Culture and Communication at Federal University of Bahia (PPGCCC/UFBA) and a Fulbright Visiting Research Student at the Center for 21st Century Studies, University of Winsconsin-Milwaukee (C21).
Before that, I got my undergraduate degree in Design at UNIFACS/Laureate International Universities, a MBA in Strategic Design from UNIFACS, and a Masters in Culture and Society from UFBA.
I’m currently working on how we understand privacy through digital platform ecosystems, algorithms and datafication practices. More specifically, my PhD research looks at how private life is being shaped and designed by digital platforms through "smart" technologies, such as smart speakers, wearable devices and so forth.
I'm also interested in the politics of user interface design, game design, platform capitalism and eSports.
